Timo Glock bet on a Vettel victory in Singapore
Timo Glock revealed today during the pre-weekend press conference that he bet Vettel would clinch the title this weekend in Singapore. However, the Virgin driver did not wish to disclose how much he had wagered.

As Sebastian Vettel could be crowned as early as this weekend in Singapore, Timo Glock revealed today that he has bet money on his compatriot being crowned as early as Sunday in the Asian city-state.
This year, I think he (Vettel) has managed to achieve an almost perfect season so far. I’ve put money on him in case of a victory this weekend so he has to give it his all to get there, Glock said during the press conference organized by the FIA today in Singapore.
Timo Glock did not wish to say more, particularly regarding the exact amount of his bet. However, he denied the figure of 20,000 euros mentioned by Nico Rosberg during the press conference, without specifying whether he had bet more or less.
But the approach of the Virgin driver is nevertheless surprising because it seems astonishing that a Formula 1 driver could bet on one of his races, even if Glock is not in the title fight and should not influence the result – except if he is lapped (or more) by the leading drivers, and in case of a collision with a rival of Vettel, it is highly likely that it will not go unnoticed.
While in other sports, betting on your team, another team, or a competitor is strictly prohibited, this doesn’t seem to be the case in Formula 1, and it’s clearly something that deserves to be examined by the governing bodies as the risks of misconduct exist.
