Sebastian Vettel – 1st

I am very, very happy with today’s result, the car was fantastic from start to finish. When we needed to attack, we were able to do so quite easily, which really helped us. When the safety car came out, it didn’t really fit into our plans as we had about a thirty-second lead with thirty laps to go, but fortunately, I had an excellent second start. I was quite lucky that there were a few backmarkers between Jenson and me, which allowed me to get back into my rhythm quite quickly. I rebuilt the gap and was quite pleased with it. Overall, it’s a fantastic result. I love this track and the challenge it presents. It’s one of the longest races of the season, but the car was fantastic, and the engine ran really well. Renault did a great job once again. We were in a comfortable position for most of the race, which is quite appreciated here because it’s a real challenge to put all sectors together, not only in qualifying but also in the race. I am very happy, and for the championship, it looks like we have a good chance of winning it at the next race.

Mark Webber – 3rd

Unfortunately, this season, I found myself too often having to climb back up from the peloton during the race… I’m not able to replicate my starts from last season this year. I need to work on that and see what’s wrong because it’s very frustrating and very risky to make comebacks in the race, especially when the DRS is not working. In the end, I probably lost a position today because of that. I had a great battle with Jenson Button, who had an excellent final stint. Sebastian truly deserves his victory today. But overall, if you come here and get a podium, it’s not a bad result. Of course, I would have preferred a victory, and that’s what we’re all aiming for. But it’s a very tough race. The guys did a good job all weekend, especially for me, as I don’t really enjoy this track. I would like to thank everyone in the team, and also at Renault, because we had 100% reliability.

Christian Horner – Team Principal

It was a big performance today to win the Singapore Grand Prix. It’s one of the highlights of the calendar with a truly unique atmosphere and is probably the toughest and most demanding race for the car and the drivers physically, due to the heat and humidity. Sebastian made no mistakes today; he was dominant during the first half of the race and then managed perfectly until the end, taking no risks to secure his ninth victory of the season.

Starting from the wrong side of the track, Mark lost places to his opponents, but he had a great race, especially against Alonso. It seemed we were gentler on the tires than Ferrari in this race. He worked hard to overtake Fernando twice to carry out his strategy until the end. On top of all that, I think we had the fastest pit stops of the weekend. The team’s performance is truly exceptional and allows Sebastian to be just one point away from the championship title. However, we will not change our approach for the next race in Japan.
