Force India targets the 5th place of Lotus Renault GP
The Force India team is currently in 6th place in the constructors' championship, 22 points behind Lotus Renault, but the British-Indian team hopes to catch up with its rival during the last five races of the season.

Force India was hoping to finish in sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship and secure a few podiums at the start of the season. As for the podiums, that seems to be a challenging goal, but for the Constructors’ Championship, the objective is on the verge of being achieved – as the team is currently in sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
But the Silverstone team does not intend to stop there and has raised its goals. After a double finish in the points in Singapore – di Resta finished in 6th place and Sutil in 8th – the team now hopes to surpass the Lotus Renault team, which is in fifth place 22 points ahead.
(Beating Renault) should be a tough task, but not impossible if we base it on this weekend. If you base it on Monza, no, but here (in Singapore), yes. Spa could have allowed us to secure a good result without our mistake during the qualifying session, but we managed a double finish in the points here, and we have taken the lead over Sauber. This is crucial for our championship, and hopefully, we can continue our current good form and Renault will continue to encounter some difficulties, so we can fight with them until the end of the season, Paul di Resta said.
The gap between the two teams may seem significant with five races to go, but it is not insurmountable as Force India appears to be on an upward trajectory while Lotus Renault is rather in a phase of stagnation or even regression. This is evident in the recent races, with Force India scoring 36 points in the last five races compared to only 5 for the Enstone team.
