Friday: the new features successfully tested at Sauber
The Sauber team has introduced numerous aerodynamic updates for the Japanese Grand Prix, and the team's two drivers had to test all these new parts during two free practice sessions. Everything went well, and Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez now hope to improve their setups to be more competitive tomorrow.

Kamui Kobayashi – 13th and 16th
«With all the new features we have on the single-seater here, we’ve been quite busy checking everything, and it’s great that we were able to carry out our testing program without any problems. My lap time obviously doesn’t seem very good, but that’s because I spun in a fast corner with a new set of tires. Overall, I think we can improve the car’s balance and also our pace because we will now look at the best solutions for everything we learned today. »
Sergio Perez – 15th and 13th
« We really managed to accomplish a good program (of testing) today. It’s my first time here (at Suzuka) and it’s quite a challenging circuit. I can clearly improve, and we also need to get the best out of our new aero package. The degradation of the front tires was quite significant, and we need to improve the balance to better manage it during the race. »
