Vettel completes Barrichello’s helmet collection

Rubens Barrichello is the driver who raced the most Grand Prix in Formula 1, and the Brazilian is almost part of the furniture - he started in F1 in 1993! The Brazilian has been alongside many drivers, and to keep a record of his career, he decided to collect his helmets as well as those of his rivals. However, one helmet was missing from his collection, that of Sebastian Vettel, but the German decided to complete the Brazilian's collection by giving him one of his helmets.

While one might expect to see Sebastian Vettel receiving gifts for his second world championship title, the Red Bull driver is doing the opposite. He has decided to give Rubens Barrichello one of his helmets to complete the Brazilian’s collection – according to the German news agency SID, it is the helmet Vettel wore during the Chinese Grand Prix when he finished in 2nd place behind Lewis Hamilton.

“I had a big surprise today when I received a helmet that was missing from my collection. Thank you Vettel … I am truly honored,” Barrichello shared on his Twitter account.

The Williams driver, who has been racing in F1 since 1993 and is competing in his 19th season in Formula 1 this year, collects his Formula 1 helmets, as well as helmets from his rivals – he notably owns a helmet from Jarno Trulli from the Toyota era, a helmet from Mark Webber, Jenson Button, and even Ayrton Senna. Among the big names in current F1, he was missing Sebastian Vettel’s helmet, but that is no longer the case!
