Sunday: Only one point for Force India and Di Resta

Paul Di Resta – 10th

It is good to come away with a point, but ultimately, we didn’t have the performance to beat the Toro Rossos today. It seemed that we could be able to hold the distance against Buemi in the final laps to stay ninth, but we reached the end of the tire cycle and I couldn’t hold him off.

In terms of tires, we should have been a bit more aggressive with the strategy and used the set of softs at the beginning of the race, but I’m not sure it would have changed much. However, every point counts and we gained it on Sauber, which is important.

Adrian Sutil – 11th

This wasn’t my best race today and I’m disappointed to have missed the points. The start of the race was okay, but Schumacher and Alguersuari came onto me quite early.

I think our strategy was good and I made my first stop when the safety car came out, but today, our main competitors were the Toro Rosso, and we didn’t have the pace to beat them.

It is clear that we must fight really hard over the last three races because the race pace of our close competitors is strong and we will need to score points to maintain our sixth position.

Robert Fernley – Deputy Team Principal

In many ways, it was quite a straightforward race for us. We initially planned to implement a three-stop strategy with Paul, but we had to switch to two stops when the safety car came out on lap 17.

We spent the entire race in a close battle with Toro Rosso, and they secured a better position than us in the end. They were particularly strong in the last stint. We are happy to have picked up a point, but we need to work hard to improve our pace for the last three races.

Our next step is the team’s home race in Delhi, which is an event everyone on the team is looking forward to. It will be a historic race for Formula 1, and I hope we can deliver a strong performance in front of Indian fans.
