Razia hopes to race with Team Lotus in Brazil

Luiz Razia, who is one of the test drivers for Team Lotus, hopes to take part in the Brazilian Grand Prix - the last race of the season. The Brazilian driver is currently looking for sponsors that might enable him to replace Heikki Kovalainen or Jarno Trulli for his national Grand Prix on November 27th.

Luiz Razia became one of the test drivers for Team Lotus at the beginning of the season, alongside Davide Valsecchi, who was his teammate in GP2 with the Caterham Team Air Asia team led by Tony Fernandes, boss of Team Lotus, and Karun Chandhok. The Brazilian driver had the opportunity to test the T128 during the first free practice session of the Chinese Grand Prix early in the season.

But according to the press agency Agencia Gazeta, the young man is reportedly in advanced talks with several companies to support him for his national Grand Prix. The primary goal was to be able to participate in a test session, but now Luiz Razia hopes to be able to replace Heikki Kovalainen or Jarno Trulli for what will be the last Grand Prix of the 2011 season.

I’ve been discussing for months with sponsors to get the necessary support to race in this event (in Brazil). For Brazil, it’s even more interesting to have a driver on the grid, someone new. The country is in a period of economic growth, and it could be interesting for companies to have their name associated with a high-tech global event, explains Luiz Razia.
