New step in the expansion of Williams' competencies and areas of intervention: services for professionals. Thus, the Grove team has decided to partner with a specialized company, Hatch, to provide new products and services for various industries.

The objective of this partnership is to pool the engineering capabilities of both companies in order to offer new products and services to prospects in various fields such as energy, mining, and infrastructure.

The scope of the partnership will include areas where Williams’ expertise is well-established: safety (brought back into the spotlight by dramatic accidents in IndyCar and Moto GP), telemetry (at the heart of modern F1), logistics, high-performance teamwork, and project management. Another aspect includes all issues related to energy conservation and transformation.

The F1 team will therefore bring its expertise while Hatch will open its doors and its address book of companies far removed from motorsports but that could benefit from the technologies and processes developed there. Frank Williams comments on this announcement as follows: «I am delighted to announce this partnership as collaborating with Hatch will help us achieve our goal of making the company’s F1-inspired technologies available through commercial applications. Through our Spark program, we also aim to use our knowledge and expertise to increase the number of initiatives for education and road safety worldwide while advocating for energy efficiency. This partnership therefore allows us to highlight our work in all these areas.»

According to Robert Francki, the CEO of the Canadian company: « Companies that use heavy trucks or equipment in very challenging conditions, such as mining companies, are constantly striving to ensure their assets operate at peak performance, just like a Formula One car. We see great opportunities for Hatch and Williams F1 to help our mining clients increase the availability of their vehicles and reduce their costs by developing performance improvement programs tailored to the unique circumstances of each mine, in the same way Williams F1 adjusts its car settings to each circuit. »

This desire for diversification is clearly part of the strategy of a company now listed on the stock exchange, which must implement programs and activities capable of generating the revenues and profits that an F1 team cannot and should not obtain. It remains to be seen whether the structure will be able to manage both while Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado are struggling to score points.
