Massa racing at home for his 100th race with Ferrari

The Brazilian Grand Prix will be a special race for Felipe Massa as it is both his home race - just like for Bruno Senna and Rubens Barrichello - but it will also be his 100th Grand Prix with Scuderia Ferrari.

Felipe Massa will compete this weekend at the Interlagos circuit in the 153rd Grand Prix of his career and the 100th for Scuderia Ferrari, for whom he has been driving since 2006. This Brazilian Grand Prix should therefore be a great moment of celebration and emotion for the Brazilian driver.

It will be a very important weekend for me, as it will also mark the 10th year since my debut in Formula 1, even though I haven’t raced for 10 years, as I was a test driver for Ferrari in 2003. Fortunately, I am still young and not finished yet, but ten years is an important milestone in an F1 driver’s career, Felipe Massa shared.

The Brazilian started his career with the Sauber team in 2002 before becoming a test driver for Ferrari in 2003. He raced again as a main driver for the Swiss team in 2004 and 2005 before signing with Ferrari in 2006 to race alongside Michael Schumacher.

«Then there were my six years with the Scuderia, during which I participated in 100 Grand Prix for the team, making me one of the drivers who has raced the most for this team. But all of this, my 10 years in Formula 1, 100 races for Ferrari, and racing in Brazil, will make this weekend a really special moment for me.»

Felipe Massa has often performed well at home, and he hopes it will be the same this weekend and perhaps even match his best result in Brazil with a victory – as was the case in 2006 and 2008 with Ferrari.

« There should be a lot of emotion, and I would really like to celebrate that with a good result on Sunday afternoon, » added the Paulista.
