Alguersuari: Toro Rosso or retirement in 2012
Jaime Alguersuari does not yet know if he will be retained by the Toro Rosso team for 2012. The Spanish driver has said that if necessary, he is ready to leave Formula 1.

The two seats of the Toro Rosso team continue to be the talk of the town as four drivers are vying for only two spots. Sébastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari hope to keep their seats, but Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo have only one desire, to replace them.
Buemi and Alguersuari have been supported for many years, and it’s a safe bet they won’t want to race in a lower category, so their future could darken if they’re not retained by Red Bull. Alguersuari already has a clear idea of what his future might be if he doesn’t race for Toro Rosso in 2012: retirement at just 21 years old!
«I could leave. If Red Bull no longer wants to continue with me, I will leave and do something else. I’m happy to be here and I’m content, but if I’m not retained, then I don’t think I will continue in Formula 1, » said Alguersuari, as quoted by the Spanish news agency EFE.
The Spanish driver also stated that he deserved to continue with the team, just like Sébastien Buemi, because he believes that with the same two drivers in 2012, the Toro Rosso team could continue to grow.
Red Bull will be the sole decision-maker in this matter, and for the moment the Austrian company has not wished to make any official announcement for next year, which continues to fuel rumors. The latest, according to the website Italiaracing, is that Buemi and Alguersuari would remain as main drivers at Toro Rosso, Daniel Ricciardo would join Caterham replacing Trulli, and Jean-Eric Vergne would become the third driver for Toro Rosso, meaning the Frenchman would only drive on Fridays in 2012.
