Friday: Sauber wants to compete with Renault and Toro Rosso
Sergio Perez expressed satisfaction with his day of testing even though he couldn't complete the planned tests due to a gearbox issue. Therefore, there is still work to be done for the Mexican before the qualifications, just like for Kamui Kobayashi, who has yet to find the right balance for his C30. The two Sauber drivers will still try to surpass the Toro Rosso drivers tomorrow during the qualifications to maintain the team's 7th place in the constructors' championship.
Sergio Perez – 17th and 13th
I was on a long stint with a lot of fuel and the Soft tires when a gearbox problem forced me to stop. It’s a shame not to have been able to finish this stint. With less fuel, the car seems good on the Soft tires. But we still have work to do to prepare for qualifying. Force India seems strong here, but the Renaults and Toro Rossos seem within our reach.
Kamui Kobayashi – 15th and 14th
I was able to cover a lot of laps today. For the moment, the wear of both types of tires is significant, which could be difficult in the race if the temperatures are the same as today. But there’s a chance of rain. I didn’t have any problems with the car, but we are still working to improve the balance, which is not yet what it should be.
