Monopolizing the seventh row, the Toro Rosso drivers are quite satisfied with their performance and see the possibility of rain tomorrow as an opportunity to score points to end the season with a bang.
Jaime Alguersuari – 13th and 13th
13th and 14th on the grid, it’s not so bad for the team. I’m happy to be ahead of the Sabuer, but points are only distributed tomorrow, where we can expect a chaotic race due to the rain. The key, in these conditions, will be not to do anything stupid or take too many risks. We need to stay calm and finish the race. Track conditions have changed a lot since this morning, but if it rains this evolution won’t continue and the race should be interesting.
Sebastien Buemi – non-participation and 14th
I am not happy with the result, even though I feel I did the best I could this afternoon. We didn’t have a very good preparation for qualifying because I was unable to run this morning. Added to the fact that I didn’t drive during FP1 because Jean-Eric was in my car on Friday morning, I really haven’t done many laps this weekend. We must learn from our mistakes to ensure we don’t make them again. For tomorrow, anything is possible because I think our car is quite competitive, so I hope I will have a good afternoon.

« The day did not start well for us because Sebastien was unable to complete a single lap this morning due to a problem. This meant that in qualifying, he had to immediately adapt to a car that was quite different from the one he drove yesterday because the choices we had made were different. He tried to get up to speed as quickly as possible, but the track was tricky, and he paid the price for our poor work in the morning. Jaime is a fairly good indication of our level of competitiveness because he is three thousandths of a second from the twelfth place. He has also done a good job this weekend. He has adapted to the car, which has undergone numerous configuration changes. The threat of rain, which was falling two kilometers from the circuit, added to the sense of urgency of the session, making it exciting. I think we are in a good position to do a good job tomorrow, and it will be up to us to make it happen ».
