Sunday: Force India ends its season perfectly

Adrian Sutil – 6th

« I am really happy with the result today. It completes an excellent weekend where everything went well. I had a good feeling throughout all the sessions, and the team did a brilliant job of giving me a very good car today. We also refueled at the right times with a good strategy because we knew we could beat Mercedes, and that’s exactly what we did. So I am very happy with my sixth position; it’s the best way to end the season, and it also means that I finish in ninth place in the driver standings, which was my goal. »

Paul Di Resta – 8th

« My eighth place today is an excellent result after a rather tricky race. There was a problem with the gearbox around mid-race, so the team just told me to try to keep going and bring the car to the finish. In the last stint, it was just about managing the gap with Kobayashi behind me, and we had enough of a margin to do it quite easily in the end. So this is the end of my first Formula 1 season, and it’s been a great year, especially now that we have finished sixth in the constructors’ championship. It’s fully deserved for the whole team, and I want to thank everyone for their help and support during this extraordinary year. »

« Today’s result is the best way to end what has been a fantastic season for Sahara Force India. Adrian and Paul delivered brilliant performances to add 12 points to our tally and secure our sixth place in the championship – our best performance to date. I am also very happy that we were able to place Adrian in ninth position in the driver standings. The team has made great strides forward this season and now it’s time to congratulate everyone who contributed to this. We will head into the winter in good spirits and determined to come back even stronger next year.
