Austin and Bahrain confirmed on the 2012 calendar
The FIA has decided to approve the 2012 Formula 1 season calendar today - the United States and Bahrain Grand Prix have been confirmed.

The FIA World Motor Sport Council met today and ratified the 2012 Formula 1 calendar. All the Grand Prix events present were confirmed, including Austin and Bahrain. It seems that the promoters and organizers of the United States Grand Prix have reached an agreement with Bernie Ecclestone on the payment of fees.
Regarding Bahrain, the race has also been confirmed despite ongoing issues – a bomb recently exploded near the British Embassy. The race has been maintained, but there is no guarantee at the moment that it will indeed take place – as has already been the case this season.
The 2012 season calendar will therefore include 20 races, with only one new addition, Austin, for the return of F1 to the United States. As in 2011, the season will start in Australia and end in Brazil.
