Patrick Head leaves the board of directors of Williams
This time, Patrick Head no longer has any activity or connection with F1. Indeed, after selling the majority of his shares during the team's stock market debut and leaving his position as Williams' engineering director, he has just decided to step down from his role on the board of directors of the Grove-based structure.

He nevertheless maintains his activities within Williams Hybrid, which is the commercial arm of the company he founded with Frank Williams, as confirmed by the latter: «Patrick and I have collaborated for 34 years. During this period, he was the director of our technical team that secured the majority of our victories and championships. It’s a remarkable legacy that certainly won’t be forgotten. Patrick is very straightforward, very hardworking, and a truly gifted engineer, who feels comfortable operating at a world-class level. He will be greatly missed by me and his colleagues. He will always be welcome at Grove. In fact, Patrick will always be seen near the factory since he continues to be involved in the development of our hybrid activities.»
The track record of the British engineer is indeed more than impressive since, since 1977, he has won a staggering 113 Grand Prix, 9 Constructors’ titles, and 7 Drivers’ titles. But after a catastrophic season like 2011, where the team was only able to score five small points, it was time for the team to bring in some fresh blood. Patrick Head will therefore be semi-retired, after an extremely fulfilling career.
