Jules Bianchi hoped to be the fourth Frenchman in F1 in 2012, but the Nice native failed to secure a full-time seat. He has therefore decided, with his manager Nicolas Todt, to focus on being in F1 in 2013.

“We’re going to continue like this, try to drive as much as possible in F1 to gather the maximum amount of information, gain the most experience, in order to get a seat in 2013. I feel ready for 2012 but I was left out. It’s a bit hard but that’s F1. I won’t give up, I’ll try to succeed in 2013,” Bianchi told RMC.

Bianchi hopes to secure a role as a third driver in F1 in 2012, to be able to drive and get used to an F1 car. He has, in fact, been expected for several weeks to join Force India. However, he would remain affiliated with Scuderia Ferrari, as he has stated.

The objective (for 2012) will be to find a team capable of helping me accumulate as many kilometers as possible, while staying with Ferrari.

Jules Bianchi also commented on the Sauber rumor, regarding a possible replacement of Kamui Kobayashi. He acknowledged that his management team had tried to make it happen, but since the Swiss team had already signed its drivers for 2012, it did not materialize.

“It’s not possible at Sauber. Perez and Kobayashi signed a while ago. It would have been a very good opportunity, but we couldn’t do it,” added Bianchi.
