The second HRT seat is worth 6 million euros
The last free seat in Formula 1 is with the HRT team, and they intend to take advantage of it by selling it to the highest bidder. The driver who wants this seat will need to bring at least 6 million euros to the Spanish team.

Following Bruno Senna’s arrival at Williams for 2012, the only available seat is with the Spanish team HRT. There are many candidates for this last spot on the Formula 1 grid, but according to the Spanish press, the Hispania team intends to sell this seat.
The HRT team is struggling with financial difficulties, which is not new, so they’re looking for a paying driver to race alongside Pedro de la Rosa. And according to Marca, the team wants a driver who can bring at least 6 million euros.
According to the Spanish daily, the list of candidates is long, even though Giedo Van der Garde is best positioned to take the seat, thanks notably to the support from McGregor and the backing of his billionaire father-in-law.
The Dutch driver could face competition from Vitaly Petrov – who also has a certain budget – unless the Russian settles for a third driver role at Caterham. Adrian Sutil and Jerome d’Ambrosio could also be candidates for this last seat, even though both men do not seem to have as much money as Van der Garde.
Vitantonio Liuzzi could also be part of this list of candidates, given that he has a contract until the end of 2013 with HRT, but the Italian driver does not have the budget of his rivals and he knows that his contract holds little value against a young driver capable of bringing in funding.
