Mid-August target for the Circuit of the Americas
The officials at Circuit of the Americas, which will host the return of F1 to the United States this year, hope to see the work completed by August.

Formula 1 will return to the United States in 2012 in Austin. Uncertainties about the future of the circuit and the race had appeared at the end of 2011, but things were eventually resolved, and the construction of the Circuit of the Americas was able to resume.
The 2012 United States Formula 1 Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from November 16 to 18, and according to Autosport, the goal of the circuit officials is to ensure the infrastructure is completed by mid-August.
Several officials from the Circuit of the Americas are in London this week to meet with Bernie Ecclestone and inform him of the progress. Marketing manager Geoff Moore is one of those present in the English capital and he spoke about the progress of the work.
The race is on. Construction is underway six days a week. The construction of the paddock is about to be completed, work on the main grandstand has begun, and we hope to be completely finished by mid-August, explained Geoff Moore to Autosport.
The pressure to meet deadlines has been somewhat reduced with the race being moved from June to November. The financial aspect of the event still seems uncertain as the Texas government does not want to provide subsidies before the race. They wish to evaluate the impact of the Grand Prix on the local economy before providing financial assistance.
But the situation does not concern the circuit officials and promoters who claim to have the necessary funds to successfully carry out the construction of the track – estimated at a little over 270 million euros.
