Oerlikon strengthens its involvement with Sauber
After being a simple supplier of coating machines and then a partner to reduce Sauber's environmental impact, Oerlikon will become a full sponsor of the Swiss team.

After being a simple supplier of coating machines, then a partner to reduce Sauber’s environmental impact, Oerlikon will become a full-fledged sponsor of the Swiss team.
The fruition of this strengthened agreement will be highly visible to everyone as the Swiss company’s logo will now be displayed on the top of the engine cover of Kamui Kobayashi’s and Sergio Perez’s cars, whereas previously it was only featured on the lower sleeve of the team’s employees.
The two partners also decided to continue with the installation of solar panels developed by Oerlikon at the Hinwill premises. This also has the advantage of reducing the company’s energy bill without having to bear the installation costs, as Oerlikon is most likely compensated by the advertising equivalents linked to its presence in a location favored by sponsors.
This change in the livery of the single-seaters can be observed starting February 6th when Sauber unveils its C-31 on the Jerez circuit.
