The new HRT fails the crash test
A new setback has delayed the progress of the HRT team at the beginning of 2012. Indeed, the F112, the new car of the Spanish team, failed the FIA crash test.

Initially scheduled to make its debut during the second free practice sessions in 2012, the new HRT single-seater, the F112, will likely not appear before the final session organized at the Barcelona circuit in early March.
The F112 reportedly failed three of the seventeen tests required by the FIA for its chassis homologation. A particular feature of this new season is that the car cannot hit the track until it has passed the crash tests imposed by the Federation.
It seems that one of the weaknesses of the new Spanish single-seater might be at the front, at the nose of the car. In light of the radical choices of its main competitors, this part of the chassis appears to be of major importance in design this year.
Pedro de la Rosa and Narain Karthikeyan should therefore take part in the Barcelona tests in early March at the wheel of the new car, just like their counterparts Timo Glock and Charles Pic at Marussia.
