Montoya: “F1 is a joke!”
The former Williams and McLaren driver, now turned NASCAR, mocks the current look of Formula 1 cars.

It’s been almost six years since Juan Pablo Montoya slammed the door on Formula 1, on the evening of the 2006 United States Grand Prix, while driving for McLaren.
Since then, the Colombian often repeats that he does not regret his choice at all, as he once again confirmed to the Swiss daily Motorsport Aktuell: « I do not regret for a single second leaving Formula 1. Of course, I have some good memories from it, but I don’t miss it. I miss some people I met in this field. But the racing? Not at all! I still watch a few Grand Prix, but I find very little interest in them »
As usual, Montoya takes a very critical view of the discipline, particularly regarding the overall look of this year’s single-seaters: « F1 is a joke. It’s sad to see that they can build cars like that. Just look at the new noses of the cars. »
Indeed, this season, due to the new regulations on the height of the front of the single-seaters, the majority of the teams, except for McLaren and Marussia, have opted for a radical solution with a stepped nose, creating a rather significant height difference, which makes the aesthetic appearance of the single-seaters quite incongruous.
