Barrichello is not opposed to returning to Ferrari
The situation of Felipe Massa at Ferrari is highly unstable. While he has recently received support from his team, many contenders are knocking on the Scuderia's door in case the Brazilian needs to be replaced.

The latest Formula 1 driver to have made statements on this subject is Rubens Barrichello. A former driver for Scuderia Ferrari, the Brazilian has often been a logical and affectionate support for his compatriot.
Nevertheless, Rubens Barrichello has not finished with Formula 1. Pushed out this year by the Williams team in favor of his compatriot Bruno Senna, Barrichello turned to the IndyCar championship after failing to find a competitive seat in Formula 1. Somewhat on the advice of Bernie Ecclestone, as he admits himself: “He [Bernie Ecclestone] asked me if I wanted to race in IndyCar. I replied yes since he didn’t find me a place in Formula 1,” he says jokingly before adding more seriously: “He told me he would see what he could do about it. I just have to wait to see what happens. I’m open to it.”
With 11 wins in Formula 1, Rubens Barrichello hasn’t lost his desire to race in F1 – even with Ferrari – one of the best garages in F1 in the past decade: « If they call me today to get behind the wheel, I would accept. It’s the best team I’ve been with, both in terms of technical support and innovation… even if there were some very heated moments. »
Indeed, life hasn’t always been easy for the Brazilian alongside Michael Schumacher. The memory of the 2002 Austrian Grand Prix, where the Brazilian yielded victory to the German under team orders, is still vivid. But Barrichello holds no grudges: “I want the fans to understand that I harbor no resentment. I remain completely open to a return to Formula 1.”
