Alonso: “Massa has nothing to prove”
Felipe Massa, often criticized at the beginning of this season, scored his first points of the year at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Additionally, his teammate Fernando Alonso praised his aggressive race and his driving skills.

It’s no longer a secret to anyone. The 2012 season will be crucial for Felipe Massa’s future at Ferrari, and even in Formula 1. Stefano Domenicali, the sporting director of Scuderia, had already warned the Brazilian driver by urging him to improve for a future in Formula 1.
In a recent interview with the Spanish daily El Mundo, Domenicali also admitted that not only was Massa’s seat not guaranteed for the following season, but the Brazilian was also struggling to find a place elsewhere.
The sporting director of the Scuderia also stated that he felt a moral obligation towards the Spaniard Fernando Alonso and that the latter could extend his involvement in important decisions. Should this be seen as a possible influence of the two-time world champion in the choice of his teammate for the 2013 season?
In the meantime, Alonso supports Massa and congratulates him on his race in Bahrain: « He made an excellent start, broke away from the pack, and had a superb race. But we didn’t discover this weekend that he was a good driver. Felipe has won twice in Bahrain. He has nothing to prove. » He concludes.
