The season is going to be very competitive according to Webber

According to Mark Webber, the 2012 Formula 1 season is unpredictable. The first four Grand Prix races of the season prove it well.

With four different drivers winning the first four Grand Prix of the season, the 2012 season seems to be very unpredictable. At least that’s what Mark Webber thinks. He highlights the disparities in performance within the teams themselves, depending on the circuits: « I was a bit surprised by the pace of some cars. The Lotuses have been incredibly fast, even though they’ve accustomed us all season to having competitive cars. And then look at the pace of the McLarens, Lewis and Jenson had a tough day. Meanwhile, Rosberg, who was so dominant in China, was less competitive. The cars are very sensitive. And I think it will continue like this throughout the season. »

The 35-year-old Australian driver is in any case the most consistent since the beginning of the year. He has indeed finished all his races in fourth position.

Webber was one of the only drivers last year to pass judgment on the presence of Formula 1 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. But even though he has been more discreet this season, he nevertheless says he is relieved that the race took place without problems: « I am happy that the Bahrain Grand Prix and this weekend are over. »

He and his team, Red Bull, are also expecting some technical modifications as the Formula 1 circus comes to European grounds: « I am eager to return to Europe and race on proper tracks. We have many new developments coming, and given the first races, we really need them. I am looking forward to getting back to winning very soon. »
