Valtteri Bottas brings two sponsors to Williams

For years, teams have relied on their drivers and their nationality to attract sponsors. This is the case for Williams, which uses its third driver, Valtteri Bottas, to sign with two Finnish sponsors, Wihuri and Kemppi.

Williams has become a specialist in the genre over the past few years. Thus, the arrival of Pastor Maldonado was facilitated by the massive support from Venezuela’s oil company PDVSA, while Bruno Senna benefits from the marked support of the Brazilian telecommunications operator Embratel.

Wihuri is a heavyweight in the Finnish industry, with its activities in wholesale of everyday products, aviation, and investment products. This conglomerate has been an active supporter of the reigning GP3 champion since 2006. This will be reflected by the presence of its logo on the driver’s belt and helmet, as well as on the rear wing of the two team’s cars.

Kemmpi will have the same visibility as Wihuri since this other family business has been alongside the young driver since 2008. Its activities are focused on industrial welding, which will allow for the establishment of a technical partnership with the Grove team. Thus, Anssi Rantasalo, CEO of Kemmpi, states: « We have supported Valtteri Bottas for several seasons, and this agreement is a natural continuation of this collaboration. It is a great honor for us to be associated with the Williams F1 Team, one of the most successful teams in the history of Formula One. We look forward to extending our collaboration with them into a technical partnership since Formula One is demanding from a technical standpoint, and welding always has an important role to play. »
