McLaren with a new front wing in Barcelona
The McLaren team should race with its new front wing at the Spanish Grand Prix, much higher than the current one and already tested at Mugello.

The McLaren team is the only top team that has not decided to use a “platypus” nose this year. It has stuck with a conventional front wing, which slopes down, but during the Mugello tests, the British team tested a new front wing.
A wing, which is taller – you can see it here, is expected to be used for the first time by Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button in Spain during the various practice sessions.
Martin Whitmarsh, the director of the McLaren team, also stated that the MP4-27 of the two British drivers should be equipped with this new front wing on Sunday during the race, in order to continue collecting data and evaluate the potential gain this new part provides in terms of performance.
“There is a good chance that we will use it on Sunday, which will be the first time our drivers will test it. We got a lot of feedback at Mugello, so we have the data to set it up well, and we will be able to find performance on the track,” Martin Whitmarsh said at a press conference.
