Friday: McLaren in Trouble
McLaren is experiencing a difficult start to the weekend, with Jenson Button encountering braking issues and Lewis Hamilton finding his car moderately well balanced. While missing out on a good performance on Friday is never ideal, the team from Woking is counting on tomorrow to make adjustments to their MP4-27s and rectify the situation.

Jenson Button – 4th and 12th:
I think that over one lap, we are not too bad. We are not great, but not too bad. But long runs are quite a strange point for us because the car doesn’t seem bad, but the times just aren’t there. We have to look for the reasons for that. We worked a lot all day to improve the front wheel locking, and sometimes in doing that, the car can become lazy, so we think that is probably the issue. We will revert to some things we changed during the sessions, to settings we know are comfortable, but it is hard to be consistent because of this front wheel locking problem. We know there are a few other areas we intend to explore tomorrow morning, which are quite interesting.
Lewis Hamilton – 8th and 14th:
I haven’t been happy with the car all day, but you can’t always get everything right. I think this year we’ve been pretty good at finding the right balance on Fridays by having uneventful days. Today is just not one of those days. I think we know what the problem is, so we’ve made all the changes and I’m quite confident that once the night has passed, we’ll correct the issues I had today and that tomorrow will be better.
