Friday: patience was required at Force India
Faced with highly unpredictable weather, the Force India team chose to do very little driving this Friday, not sending its drivers Paul di Resta and Jules Bianchi, substituting for Nico Hülkenberg in Free Practice 1, out on a hunt for the clock, and only driving at the end of Free Practice 2.

Paul di Resta – 23rd and 11th:
« Very difficult conditions today, but sometimes the weather is like that. So we had to be patient and choose our moments because the track conditions were really bad with lots of streams crossing the circuit. We didn’t really change the car from the day, so we’ll start with the same settings tomorrow morning. I feel sorry for the fans who missed the chance to see a lot of action today, but it was great to see so many people come out on a Friday. »
Nico Hülkenberg – 9th [in Free Practice 2]:
A very limited program today to avoid running on such a wet track with high risks of aquaplaning. The only time we felt we could learn anything was in the last half-hour of the afternoon session, so we stayed in the garage for most of the day. The forecast for the rest of the weekend looks very mixed, so I think we have a challenging weekend ahead of us.
Jules Bianchi – 24th [in Free Practice 1]:
« It’s a shame about the weather today. I only did the installation lap and it was over. The conditions were so wet that there was no value in doing more laps and there was little to learn. »
