Mark Webber continues the adventure in 2013 with the Red Bull team for which he has been racing since the 2007 season. This announcement comes after the Australian’s victory at the British Grand Prix last weekend.

Webber is naturally very happy about this new contract year: « I have been with Red Bull Racing since 2007, and together we have won nine races. I am feeling very confident at the moment. I know it’s a good team and I feel very comfortable here. We have grown together over the years and I am convinced that it is the right thing to do to stay with them for another year. The team works hard to continually improve in all areas and we have proven that we can win races together. It’s great to be able to make this announcement after the victory at Silverstone, and I am looking forward to giving my all in every race, including next year. »

The team principal, Christian Horner, added: « Mark has driven beautifully during the first nine races of this season, and his performances have been impressive. A large part of his success in Formula 1 has been achieved with Red Bull Racing, and together, we have obtained ten pole positions, nine victories, and thirty-one podiums. Since there was a strong desire from both sides to continue the partnership, it was a logical decision to extend our relationship, and it is with great pleasure that we confirm Mark will drive for us in 2013. »

This puts an end to the rumors of the Australian joining Ferrari alongside Alonso, and possibly also to the ambitions of Ricciardo or Vergne to join Red Bull as early as next season.
