Friday: Caterham completes its program despite the rain
Even though the rain made a few incursions over the Hockenheim circuit, the wet track throughout the afternoon session did not prevent Caterham from completing the scheduled program. There is still progress to be made tomorrow to reach the desired level.

Heikki Kovalainen – 18th and 17th:
« We covered a decent mileage today but I think we still have work to do, mainly to find grip. The conditions in Free Practice 1 were good to start with and we managed to complete a big part of our aerodynamic program, with some very slow laps on slick tires as the track started to get rather wet! In Free Practice 2, we went out on Wet tires for our first stint, then we switched to Intermediates but couldn’t find a really good balance. We’ll look into that tonight to ensure we can push tomorrow in Free Practice 3 and qualifying. »
Vitaly Petrov – 19th and 21st:
« I am rather happy with the way the day has unfolded. In conditions like those of these two sessions, one of the most important things is not to make a mistake. We had a big program for Free Practice 1 and 2, and it was important to ensure that we could complete it without any issues.
In the car, we tried a few setup changes, trying to eliminate understeer, and with the slick tires in the morning session, we were undoubtedly going in the right direction as the session ended. In the afternoon, we tested a few things on the Rain tires as well as on the Intermediates, and we made progress again, but there’s still a lot to come.
