Friday: The Ferrari drivers reasonably satisfied
The conditions weren't ideal this Friday, but the Scuderia is content and remains satisfied with its testing. The various track conditions encountered allowed the F2012 to be tested in all scenarios, even though this prevented a clear and precise evaluation of the few new parts brought for the German event.

Fernando Alonso – 3rd and 20th:
« All things considered, I am reasonably satisfied with the way things went. We drove in different conditions, ranging from dry to a completely wet track, through a rather damp circuit, and tomorrow, at least according to the current weather forecasts, we might have a very similar scenario for qualifying. The car behaved well in all conditions, which is always a good thing, and we were also able to see how the different types of tires worked and when was the right time to change them. The new parts? We didn’t have enough time to evaluate them thoroughly: hopefully, we can do that tomorrow. »
Felipe Massa – 8th and 12th:
« As in Silverstone, the rain also made life difficult here in Hockenheim. This morning, the conditions were rapidly changing, and it was difficult to complete a stint of clear laps that would be useful enough to assess the performance of the new components we brought. In the afternoon, we didn’t even have a chance to do a single lap with slick tires, so we focused on understanding the car’s behavior in the wet. It’s always hard to make a judgment when you’re running in conditions like these, but I must say the car is doing well, so we are reasonably satisfied. It’s even more complicated to say where we stand in the dry, because we haven’t run enough. Let’s see if tomorrow, we manage to do a few more laps, but at the time I speak to you, the forecasts are not very encouraging. »
