Saturday: Sauber doesn’t understand its tire difficulties
In difficulty all weekend, the Saubers confirmed their poor form on the Hungarian track by failing to reach the necessary level to advance to Q3. The issues stem from misunderstanding the tires, which the Swiss team hopes not to encounter tomorrow.

Sergio Pérez – 15th and 14th:
« It’s simply all that was possible for us today. For some reasons, we struggled all weekend with the car’s balance and understanding the tires on this track. I felt that my car made a big step forward in terms of balance between this morning and qualifying. In Q1, it didn’t seem so bad, but the car behaved inconsistently, and in Q2, it was very difficult to put together a good lap, and I couldn’t make it to Q3. »
Kamui Kobayashi – 12th and 15th:
« Well, after facing difficulties during all the practice sessions, the qualifying result is not a surprise. For me, reaching Q3 would have been a miracle today. We don’t understand why we’re unable to make the tires work on this circuit, and that goes for both compounds, I can’t find the grip I need. Maybe it’s related to the track and the bumps, the dust, or even something else. It will be another tough race for us because it’s particularly hard to overtake here, but we certainly won’t give up and we’ll do our best tomorrow. »
