Sunday: Force India at the edge of the points

After a mid-grid qualifying, the race for the two Force India drivers was going to be quite difficult. Even though they hoped to score at least one point, Nico Hülkenberg and Paul di Resta fell short of the Top 10.

Nico Hülkenberg – 11th:

A very difficult race, to be honest. I struggled a lot with the balance of the car this afternoon, and we just didn’t have the right pace. The rear tire degradation was also high, and it wasn’t easy towards the end of the race. So, all things considered, I think 11th place was the best possible because we didn’t make any mistakes and the two-stop strategy was certainly the right decision. We weren’t far from the points, but we still need to take a step back and analyze what happened so that we can improve in the upcoming races.

Paul di Resta – 12th:

«I don’t think our 12th place is a fair reflection of the speed we had in the car today. My race was compromised by a poor start where I lost a few positions in the first corner. I had the same problem in Germany last week; so we need to understand how we can improve in this area because it affects our position on the track. The first few laps were pretty tough, but the car was more performant after four laps and got me back into the fight. Unfortunately, it was impossible to maximize the speed of the car because there was no chance of overtaking. Once the pit stops were completed, it was just a matter of bringing the car to the finish. »
