Friday: Webber skips Free Practice 2 at Red Bull
Like the rest of the grid, Red Bull chose to be prudent by spending little time on track, especially during Free Practice 2. Thus, after a morning that was already considered challenging, Vettel ventured out but didn't set any time, while Webber effectively skipped - so to speak - the afternoon session.

Sebastian Vettel – 9th and 15th:
« It’s a shame that there’s so much water because we’d like to get out on the track more, but you can’t. It’s also unfortunate for the fans around the circuit – the weather is quite windy and probably not so good in the stands. Hopefully, they can come back tomorrow with dry clothes and we have some sunshine – that’s the forecast anyway! You can’t race in these conditions since the tires can’t clear the water. »
Mark Webber – 5th and 19th:
« It’s a shame because we love Spa and it would be nice to do more laps, but in the end, you can’t learn much in these conditions. We have some information from Free Practice 1, but you can’t race when there’s so much standing water on the track and you probably wouldn’t qualify like that, so in the end, we just put the car to bed and we’ll come back tomorrow. »
