Friday: Rain prevents Lotus from testing its “device”
Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean were supposed to test the Double-DRS for the first time together today, more simply called "the device" in English internally. But the rain dampened Lotus's plans to perfect their system, which consequently might make the English team the one that could suffer the most from this rainy Friday.

Kimi Räikkönen – 21st and 20th:
There isn’t much to say about today. It was too wet to ride and there wasn’t much point in doing so since the forecast predicts better conditions for the next two days. I’m eager to race on this track in the dry. It’s a shame we couldn’t evaluate our new developments as it would have been interesting to see how they perform here. Tomorrow is another day, let’s see what happens.
Romain Grosjean – 23rd and 21st:
« It’s really a shame not to have been able to drive much today because of all this rain. I was really looking forward to trying out the famous “device” for the first time, but I guess I’ll have to wait. The weather should be better tomorrow, so we will be very busy cramming two days of assessment into a single session and then heading straight to qualifiers. The E20 has been good on all circuits so far this year, so I’m sure it will be quite good on this one no matter what. »
