Sunday: The Mercedes were not fast enough
After a difficult Saturday, the Silver Arrows seemed in a much better position after the first-corner crash. But the Mercedes F1 W03s weren't fast enough to maintain their position—Michael Schumacher at one point being in 2nd place—or to climb back up, with Rosberg knocking on the points' door after a distant start.

Michael Schumacher – 7th:
I quite enjoyed my 300th race, and it was fun with all those battles. In the end, you have to be realistic and taking points from where I started is not too bad, even if you obviously hope for better when being 2nd at one point. But this was more than we expected. At the beginning, it was quite reasonable, and we were following our one-stop strategy. However, in the end, it didn’t work, so we decided to put on fresh tires and attack with them. If we hadn’t done that, we might have finished further back. But then, I lost sixth gear and there was no way to attack. We will have to do that next week at Monza.
Nico Rosberg – 11th:
This was a busy but disappointing weekend for us, and it’s a shame to have finished just outside the points today. Without the gearbox change and penalty, I probably could have scored some points this weekend. I had a good start and gained ten positions in the pack. We were on a one-stop strategy because I needed to take that risk to climb back up, but it didn’t work out, and we had to pit again towards the end. Now, I’m looking forward to Monza, and we will push hard to achieve a better result next weekend.
