Friday: Williams completed his schedule and tested all his options
Williams will close the garage door with the feeling of a job well done. The three drivers each completed their respective programs and tested different options, with Pastor Maldonado joined by Valtteri Bottas in the morning before Bruno Senna took over in the afternoon.
Pastor Maldonado – 10th and 14th:
It was a productive day as we were trying several different configurations, especially with the downforce levels. We completed everything we had planned to do in the program. There is still more speed to find, so tomorrow we will continue to work to improve, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do.
Bruno Senna – 17th [Free Practice 2]:
« It was a difficult session. After not running this morning, I had a lot to do this afternoon, but we tried different things and I think we can find a good path. I hope the car will be even better tomorrow and that we can iron out some technical details to improve performance before qualifying. »
Valtteri Bottas – 13th [Free Practice 1]:
« We drove a lot today thanks to the weather, so it was great to put that in our bag. The layout is brilliant as it’s an old-school circuit, and very fast. The morning session was productive, and we accomplished all the work we had planned. »
