Friday: The Red Bulls perform well with all the tires
The Red Bulls proved to be strong today on the Marina Bay circuit. Whether it was Sebastian Vettel, topping the timesheets in both sessions, or Mark Webber, never far from his teammate, the RB8s were at their advantage regardless of the tire setup.
Sebastian Vettel – 1st and 1st:
« It’s a tough circuit for the drivers and the cars. Overall, we can be happy with today, but let’s see what we do tomorrow, it’s only Friday and today’s results are not very conclusive since some drivers were caught in traffic, etc. The most important thing is that the car seemed to work regardless of the tires, which is a good starting point. The curbs were changed this year, and it’s an improvement. »
Mark Webber – 6th and 4th:
The second session was useful today. I had a good feeling with the car and we seem to be more competitive here. We need to keep progressing steadily because the track will have changed a bit by tomorrow, so we need to be prepared for that, but it’s a solid start. I think we can be strong on Sunday, we need to have a clean Saturday before that, but for now everything is going well.
