Green light from the FIA for Austin
One and a half months before the first race on the Austin circuit, Charlie Whiting has given the green light to the Texas facilities. Only one final inspection remains a week before the Grand Prix.

Despite the delays in work during the month of February, the Texan workers managed to catch up on their schedule to allow an inspection by the F1 official for the FIA, Charlie Whiting, at the Circuit of the Americas, which will host the next United States Grand Prix. This initial inspection focused on the circuit’s safety equipment, namely the curbs, safety barriers, protective grids, and other safety devices, including barriers supplied by the French company Tecpro.
Obviously, the Briton is very enthusiastic in his comments about the circuit: « Everything I’ve seen is absolutely first class and the progress that has been made since my last visit is impressive. The guys have done an excellent job. It’s really fantastic. It’s built in the best possible way, as we expected, and I have absolutely no complaints. »
On the Monday before the race, November 12th, Charlie Whiting will conduct a second inspection to check the painting and decoration works that still need to be completed. But now that the circuit has been officially classified as ready to host a race, the main risks of a cancellation have been eliminated.
