De la Rosa wants to stay with HRT in 2013
HRT driver Pedro de la Rosa wants to continue the adventure with the Spanish team. He has a two-season contract that runs until the end of 2013. According to him, the progress seen by the team this year could finally lead to convincing results next season.

Pedro de la Rosa has no doubt that he will still be with HRT for the 2013 season. The Spanish driver has a two-year contract, and he fully intends to honor it: « There is nothing new on that front. I have a two-year contract and have always considered joining HRT as at least a two-year project. »
The 42-year-old driver, who will become the oldest in the discipline next season after Michael Schumacher’s retirement, is very happy within the Spanish team and wishes to participate in its development, as he confides to our colleagues at Autosport: « I know the second year will be better, and that’s why I want to stay. That’s all I have to say. I don’t know what the team has planned for the other driver, but I’ll always be there. I have a contract. I’m happy with the team, and the team is happy with me. I want to see it grow. It would be stupid for them to start from scratch again. I am confident. »
De la Rosa is therefore not worried about the horde of young, ambitious drivers with deep pockets who might interest HRT in the near future: « I would be really surprised if they chose that option. »
The fact of fighting at the back of the grid does not seem to dull the motivation of the Spaniard, who expects to regularly battle with Caterham and Marussia next season: « We will continue to fight with the teams that are at the front and there are many of them. We need to get closer and consider Marussia and Caterham as our closest rivals. That’s the goal. We have to work hard, but we now have the right structure. »
