Hamilton would like to see Karthikeyan at Force India
Lewis Hamilton has openly supported HRT driver Narain Karthikeyan, whom he believes deserves to drive for a more prestigious team. The Briton would even like to see the Indian driver join the ranks of Force India to best represent his nation, which will host Formula 1 in a few days.

On the sidelines of the Indian Grand Prix, which will take place starting Friday at the Buddh circuit, Lewis Hamilton lamented that the only Indian driver in Formula 1, Narain Karthikeyan, is not driving for the Force India team.
According to the 2008 world champion, Narain Karthikeyan deserves to drive for the team representing India in Formula 1. This association between the current HRT driver and Force India would be the perfect banner to represent India in the discipline: « It’s a shame that Narain is driving a slow car. He would probably do wonders if he were with Force India, which is a very good team. It would be a good springboard for him. »
Would Hamilton become the new manager of Karthikeyan? In fact, the Briton is using his own experience to highlight the advantages a driver can have by being part of a team of the same nationality: « I am a British driver and I drive for a British team [McLaren]. It has worked very well for us and I hope it can be the same for him [Karthikeyan] and for India. »
Here is a rather strange statement from Hamilton, who has just signed a contract with the German team Mercedes for next season… However, with persistent rumors about the available seats at Sauber and Force India, the latter might indeed have a seat available in 2013, if Nico Hülkenberg, as it seems likely, is heading to the Swiss team. In any case, Karthikeyan has just received significant support from Hamilton to try and compete for this spot.
