Sergio Pérez could forgo racing this weekend
Mexican driver Sergio Pérez, suffering from the flu, may cancel his participation in the India Grand Prix this weekend. An announcement will be made on this matter Friday morning before the first practice sessions.

A decision will be made in the coming hours by Sauber and its driver Sergio Pérez regarding his participation in the Indian Grand Prix weekend.
The Mexican driver is indeed suffering from the flu and has canceled all his meetings with the press this Thursday in order to rest. Although this state of fatigue doesn’t seem worrying, he may not have the strength to fulfill his role behind the wheel of the Sauber this weekend.
The Swiss team has not yet made a statement and is waiting for the development of its driver’s condition before deciding on Friday morning whether to participate or not.
Test driver Estéban Gutierrez could potentially be called upon in the event of the primary driver’s withdrawal.
Update: Sergio Pérez indeed withdrew from the first session on Friday. As a result, it is Sauber test driver Esteban Gutierrez who is replacing him.
