Sunday: A collision for both Sauber drivers
The races of Sergio Pérez and Kamui Kobayashi were ruined by contacts. Sergio Pérez, starting in the Top 10, experienced a blistering problem with his front left tire, and after an unscheduled stop, his return to the pack collided with Daniel Ricciardo, causing a fatal puncture. Kamui Kobayashi, ultimately finishing 14th, suffered a similar fate, but he was in the role of tire wrecker during his contact with Pastor Maldonado's Williams.

Kamui Kobayashi – 14th:
« I must say that it wasn’t our weekend here. During the race, I was never alone, I always had someone in front of me but not enough top speed to overtake. It turned out to be frustrating. I was stuck behind Daniel Ricciardo and there was nothing to do. The problem with Pastor Maldonado was rather strange. He had overtaken me, but then he suddenly cut back onto my line. I couldn’t avoid the contact. I think we should make sure we have a smooth weekend in Abu Dhabi and forget this one. »
Sergio Pérez – Abandon (puncture):
Today is a total disappointment. To begin with, I had to return to the pits after 14 laps because the front left tire was blistering a lot. We still don’t know why this happened. I wanted to make up for the lost positions, but I hit Daniel Ricciardo’s front wing when I overtook him. The right rear tire delaminated and damaged something at the back of the car. So my race was over after 20 laps.
