The conclusion of the 2012 season is approaching: only three races remain before the finale in Interlagos, starting with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Built in 2009, the Yas Marina circuit hosts the protagonists for this antepenultimate race of the season, a track that requires a lot of mechanical grip due to the numerous slow corners along its 5554 meters of length. The car must eagerly change direction and tackle the curbs to navigate the few chicanes that punctuate the track.
From now on, the situation in the championship couldn’t be clearer: Fernando Alonso needs to make up 14 points on Sebastian Vettel in the last three races. To achieve this, Ferrari is attempting to double down on the development of the F2012, but it seems difficult for the Scuderia to be on equal footing with the RB8s, which have been dominant for four Grand Prix races in the hands of the young German. Ferrari is therefore counting on the questionable reliability of the Austrian cars to allow its Asturian driver to capture a third crown he has been awaiting since 2006.
