Saturday: Maldonado the ray of sunshine for the entire Williams team

Pastor Maldonado delivered a fantastic lap in Q3 this afternoon in Abu Dhabi to secure 4th place on the starting grid. The Venezuelan driver is delighted with his performance and hopes to score big points tomorrow. Bruno Senna, on the other hand, had more difficulty but the Brazilian will try to climb up the ranks tomorrow.

Pastor Maldonado – 7th and 4th:

« It was a complicated session, especially in Q2 as we were on the edge in 10th position, but I saw the car’s potential. We then found a good balance for Q3 and I’m happy that we’re back as strong. I think we’ve shown throughout the weekend that we’re competitive, and I did my best in qualifying. I’m really happy for the team, for myself and I look forward to tomorrow’s race. Points are very important for us, so I’m going to push to the maximum. »

Bruno Senna – 17th and 15th:

I never wish to be outside the top 10 in qualifying but this weekend, we encountered some problems, so it was like that. Hopefully tomorrow the car will be fast in the race because we have a competitive single-seater. We will work hard tomorrow and we will try to score some points. It’s clear there will be some opportunities to overtake on this circuit with the DRS so let’s hope we can use that to our advantage.
