Friday: Force India on the right track in Shanghai
As in Australia and Malaysia, the VJM06 seems to perform well in China, being the best of the rest. This gives Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta reasons to be optimistic for the continuation of hostilities in this third round of the season.
Adrian Sutil – 8th and 8th:
« I am happy with the way the day went. There were no major problems and we were able to test different things on the car, particularly on the aerodynamic side. The important thing now is to understand which new features and best settings to use for the rest of the weekend. Regarding the tires, there is a big difference between the two specifications, with the mediums working better than the softs. I think we are quite competitive, but it’s too early to say exactly where we stand. »
Paul Di Resta – 10th and 9th:
« I think the day was mainly focused on the tires to try to understand how to use them best. We did our best, but I think everyone noticed a significant difference between the two types of rubber. Additionally, it’s a track that demands a lot from the tires. We completed our program, tried different things in terms of settings, and we need to study the data tonight to make the right decisions for the rest of the weekend. »
