Friday: Mercedes is in its place
Like all the teams on the grid, Mercedes arrives in Spain with a host of updates on the W04. Improvements that add value, even though there's still work to be done for Mercedes to reach the level of the best.
Lewis Hamilton – 6th and 6th:
The team did a great job bringing improvements this weekend, and I could feel the benefits immediately. It’s hard to quantify the progress made at this stage. After the first session this morning, I felt some good things, and the car was well balanced, but I was a bit less satisfied in the afternoon. We need to keep working tonight and see if we can do a little better tomorrow.
Nico Rosberg – 9th and 7th:
« It seems that we are quick over a lap again but we really need to focus on our race pace. There is still work to do but overall I think we had a good day of testing and learned a lot of things. It’s difficult to manage the tires in these conditions and we saw a lot of graining due to the low temperatures. »
