Thursday: There is room for improvement at Sauber
Sauber concludes this first day of testing with the satisfaction of a job well done. The Swiss team completed the entire planned program and believes they can improve in the upcoming sessions.
Nico Hülkenberg – 14th and 13th
« It was a good day and we were able to accomplish all the planned work without encountering any issues. The balance of the car improved during free practice 2 and we know that the track will improve and be faster throughout the weekend. We collected a lot of data and there is room for improvement. »
Esteban Gutierrez – 16th and 15th
« It was a positive day. In the first session, I focused on having confidence in the car. It was a bit tricky because it is very narrow and bumpy, and at the beginning, it’s difficult to understand the car. But it’s something we were able to improve in the second session. It was important to have references between the two cars. It’s clear that the gap with the front is still significant, and we need to find more speed in qualifying. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my day, and we will continue to push to the limit. »
