Friday: Williams Aware of the Work to Be Done
Like all the teams, Williams mainly used the second free practice session to best prepare for the rest of the weekend. The two home drivers are satisfied with the work done, even though there is still work to be done to make progress tomorrow.

Valtteri Bottas – 6th and 16th:
The conditions were not ideal today when we had planned to try new parts on the car. It’s the same for all teams, but I am really sorry for the fans who didn’t get to see much of us running. We managed to test with the hard and soft tires during the second session, so we have data to analyze tonight and will see where we need to improve for the final practice and qualifying tomorrow.
Pastor Maldonado – 3rd and 17th:
I had a different program from Valtteri’s today. I focused on the mechanical aspect and tire work. We lost track time in the first session due to the weather, so we had a busy afternoon. I was able to do longer stints at the end of the session as the track became drier, but we still have work to do to improve our performance for tomorrow.
