Friday: Mercedes in the unknown for Sunday
As has been the case since the start of the season, the Mercedes W04 has proven to be fast on a flying lap. The German team has also focused on its race pace, but with the temperatures expected to be higher on Sunday than those encountered today, it is still too early to determine exactly where the team stands compared to its rivals.

Nico Rosberg – No time and 1st:
« It’s a shame for the fans that we didn’t drive more this morning, so it was good for them that the track was dry in the afternoon. On a single lap, the car is still fast, so qualifying should go well. The question remains our race pace. We worked on that today and it seems fine. But it could be different on Sunday since it’s supposed to be hotter, so we don’t know where we stand at the moment compared to the others. I’m still confident that we can have a good weekend in front of our fans, colleagues, and families. »
Lewis Hamilton – 4th and 5th:
« We had a challenging day and clearly have more to learn tomorrow. I struggled with the balance of my car, so we will need to work on that tonight to be in a good position for qualifying. I’m confident we can sort it out for tomorrow. It’s great for the British fans to have seen some track action this afternoon after the rain this morning. Thank you, everyone, for sticking with us. Hopefully, the weather will improve tomorrow. »
